Moong Dal Dosa is very popular in South India. With a little variation, you can create nice crispy
Moong Dal & Urad Dal Dosa. The best thing about this dosa is that you don't have to ferment the
batter. You can soak the dals overnight and grind it the morning and make the dosas immediately. Now
a days, lot of people avoid eating rice. For them, this dosa is a good substitute over normal dosa.
Moong Dal - 2 cups
Urad Dal - 1 cup
- Salt as per taste
How to Make :
Soak both the dals together in a large pan with lot of water for 6-8 hours. Grind them together in
smooth batter. Add the water in the batter to have a dosa batter consistency.
Heat the griddle and apply the oil on a hot griddle. Pour the batter in the center of the griddle and start
spreading the batter from the center. Try to make it as thin as possible. Cook the dosa until it turns little
brown. Apply little oil on the top (don't want to use more oil, you can avoid applying oil here) and turn
over the dosa and let the other side also become little brown. This crispy, pale yellow color dosa is
ready to serve.
Serve the dosa with your favorite chutney and sambar.
Note : For a little variation you can add 5-6 green chillies and ½ Tablespoon grated ginger while
grinding the dals.
