A lower calorie but wonderfully delicious appetizer. Tastes great with ketchup and chutneys.
- 2 cups grated lauki/kaddu
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 1 cup rice flour
- 2 small green chillies
- 2 medium cloves of garlic (grated or finely chopped)
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1/4 tsp garam masala (more if you want them spicy)
- Salt to taste
- 4 tbsps vegetable oil
How To Make:
Grate the lauki/kaddu and add some salt. Let is stand for sometime so that water is released. Drain away the water. Add the chillies, garlic, ginger, garam masala and mix well. Add the besan, rice flour, and more salt (to taste). Make a thick dough and let it stand for a while. Then make small flat patties. Heat the oil in a shallow pan. When well heated, place the patties and shallow fry till golden brown.
Serve with regular ketchup or hot and sweet tomato sauce!
