Aisha
I am a big fan of Jane Austen's novels. Aisha is based on Jane Austen's
Emma. This isn't the first time a Jane Austen's novel got a Bollywood
make over. Pride and Prejudice got bollywoodized to a not so very
original Bride and Prejudice and before that we had a Tamil version of
Sense and Sensibility.
So we know the story of Emma but how is the Bollywood version???
The
film is produced by Anil Kapoor's daughter Rhea Kapoor and the lead
actress is his other daughter Sonam Kapoor.
The promos look fresh
and Sonam Kapoor is gorgeous. Abhay Deol has quietly built himself a
loyal fan following doing off the beaten path movies. I predict he will
not disappoint his loyal in this film either. The songs are already making
waves. Designer clothes, sophisticated looks, glossy promos and a story
that is still liked almost 200 years after it was written. This film has
everything going for it. My psychic powers reveal a winner in Aisha. Releasing to
theaters near you on Aug 6th, PD foresees many of you going to watch it.
